Welcome to Evolve and Change Counseling, PLLC. My name is LaStacie “Stacie” Johnson, and I am passionate about helping people move forward, find balance, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate, Supervised by Kimberly Boyd, M. S., LPC-S, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), a Life Coach, a Certified Mediator, and a Child Advocate. My professional journey has taken me from serving as a Special Education Teacher and School Counselor to working as a Substance Abuse Counselor, and now as the owner and lead therapist of Evolve and Change Counseling. With years of experience supporting individuals, families, and organizations, I specialize in addressing substance use concerns, trauma, PTSD, codependency, family dynamics, and burnout/compassion fatigue—particularly among educators and veterans.
Before entering the counseling field, I proudly served eight years in the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps. As a disabled veteran, I understand firsthand the challenges of resilience, transition, and healing. My military background instilled discipline, problem-solving, and a deep commitment to advocating for others—skills that continue to shape the way I show up for my clients.
In my work, I bring together the structure of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the grounding of mindfulness practices, and the encouragement of life coaching to help clients set and achieve personal goals. As a mediator, I help families and individuals navigate conflict with clarity and compassion, while my role as a child advocate ensures that the voices and well-being of young people are honored in every step of the process. For clients who desire it, I also integrate Christian principles, emphasizing self-worth, resilience, and the importance of living in alignment with one’s values.
At Evolve and Change Counseling, my mission is simple: to walk alongside you as you evolve, embrace change, and create the life you were meant to live.
Philosophy & Approach
I believe:
Healing begins when we recognize the power of choice.
Therapy should be collaborative—you are the expert on your own life.
Real change comes through practical strategies, compassion, and accountability.
Faith, resilience, and self-compassion are powerful tools for renewal.
At Evolve and Change, I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, while also honoring the role of faith and values in healing.
